Summer resort on Lake Faak

A piece of history - Memories from our family business

Even before the war, Lake Faak was a popular place of rest and relaxation. The often arduous journey was an experience in itself. Finally arrived at the lake, the long-awaited first jump into the crystal-clear water of Lake Faak brought refreshment and awakened the spirits of life.

In those days, the art probably lay in simplicity. There were few to no attractions, the holiday guest rented a simple room, washing facilities were far from today's standard, a simple but very valuable breakfast with food from our own production strengthened the guest at that time.

Already in the early days of the traditional summer resort, the Wochinz house was popular with guests from near and far. The traditional bathers felt at home here and enjoyed an uncomplicated holiday season.

Our family business Wochinz Bath was popular with young and old. At the social gatherings in and in front of my father's grocery store, people could exchange ideas here. It was a marketplace and social exchange at the same time. Here they learned about hiking opportunities, got to know the hospitality of the Carinthians, and often close friendships were formed.

When I took over the business from my father in 1996, I invested in the renovation and infrastructure. Over time, my Hotel Garni was created. Today, as in the past, I invite my guests to spend an uncomplicated, relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
